Renewing not only state licensure, but also NBCOT renewal on top of paying for various CEUs can rack up quickly! As someone who became licensed in a tri-state area right after graduation (Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia), becoming licensed and paying for all of these (not to mention maintaining them) became daunting! I am currently up for my NBCOT renewal this year and although I have met my PDU requirements, I have received MANY questions from both new and seasoned practitioner’s (yes, this postt applies to both OT’s and COTA’s – we BOTH have to gain 36 units per renewal period!) on where to obtain CEUs.
So I went down a rabbit hole to research some current opportunities. Except lets make it a little sweeter. I was on a search to find easily accessible, FREE opportunities to earn professional development.
So before I share tons of free CEUs, keep in mind that these free CEUs are specifically approved for NBCOT renewal. For state licensure, you will have to check if your state will also accept it to be used for state licensure renewal. Every single state is different.
And if you are highly confused on how this process even works, how to convert units, etc, I highly recommend you check out my recent Instagram post where I easily explain CEU information, with resources from NBCOT attached.
